This does not creat a check, it only fills in the blanks on a preformated check. If your looking for software to print your own checks this is not it this only fills in the checks you already have if your too lazy to fill them in manually.

Its not bad if it wasnt for the fact that I cant export the configuration to another Mac in the house. The Font sizes are the same across each field so if the dollar amount is written out under the Pay to field it will word wrap if too big. At the same time in order to shrink it down so it doesnt word wrap the numeric dollar amount font becomes to small. The ability to change each fields font would make this much better. I also encountered a bug where every thing I typed doubled. I was able to quit and relaunch the app to stop it from happening. Its rough around the edges in the sense that it doesnt allow you add a check number field, or your name and address or bank information either. So this is more if you have the bank account and routing numbers already on the check along with your information. Another complaint I have is the cheque sizes should be a drop down for the most common cheque sizes insteade it gives me odd stuff like US Letter, or US Legal or Index card. This may be caused by my printer not really sure but its annoying. Please fix and Ill update the review and rating!!!!
Apple needs to take this app off line and refund everyone their money! The app is useless without the ability to add a routing number and account number.
NOT USER FRIENDLY
Nice and handy. Does well what it was intended to do. Recommend!
I spend quite a bit of timeon two different occasions trying to understand how this app works. I got a few things, like background photo and the most basic of data loading to work. However, it would not print. It seems to me that it needs better standardization of the fields that are on all checks. The banks info and the check writer’s name and address. I could find no standard templates that you could load, input your information and print. I uploaded another check writing program into my Windows 8.1 system and all the standard fields were there and I was able to print it out in no time at all. Whatever happened to Mac user friendly apps? Don’t understand how a check writing app like this could ignore the obvious. It is frustrating to waste money and time on an app like this.
Program is not setup for a standard US check; Tried to use custom fields and setup standard items like date, pay to the order of, box around amt, bank number, account number, routing, check number, memo; All of this should be pre programed and not available. Margins are near impossible to setup on a blank check; Program has custom fields, but may as well be everything custom and no logic to the custom fields. Application is a developer basic logic and no concept to US banking. Waste of $3!!!!
This is exactly what I was looking for. A simple app to print and record checks without the hassle of accounting software. The template set up is a little quirky — specifically, if you change the size of the type, the fields move around the template randomly and need to be replaced. But once the template is set it works perfeclty for my needs.
I’m a tech savy guy, I thought this might make my life easier, I was so wrong. Don’t buy this app, this is an app for printing checks, but it does not do that at all, I mean it prints, but there is no support for customizing the printer or margins or paper size. I tried modifying the printer via the OS to make this work, its not working and its not with the effort.
Simple to use app. Just what I was looking for , unfortunately it crashes at least twice before you can get to print your cheque and always when you are in a hurry, Murphy’s Law at work.
Spent way to much time trying to get this to print a check. I need to center the check and make it print at the top of the page (manual feed a preprinted check to fill in amounts etc). I finally got it centered by trial and error but the check wants to print at the bottom of the page, as a result after the preprinted check has passed through the printer. Frustrating. should be a free app so you could just pitch it. Not impressed at all.
no default template, no back ground, you must enter everythings. apple store should take this app off.
Horrible end user experience. After several configuration attemps still unable to format correctly. Should not be that difficult. App should be pulled from store
I’m at an age where filling out checks (or writing anything) is very problematic. This app solves that problem for me. It’s quite easy to add multiple templates using scanned images of your different institutional checks to aid in locating the check’s text fields. As one enters the numerical amount of the check in Entry mode, the textual version is created automatically so as to prevent the user from making mistakes. I did have a problem getting that textual form of the amount to come out in the correct format, though. The developer’s Customer Service was very quick to respond my questions, and after several emails back and forth they set me straight and the app works perfectly now. I give this app a 4 rating because its setup isn’t very intuitive and the Cheque Print Guide is very brief and doesn’t contain all information needed to set the program up. I’d recommend this app.
I followed FAQ instructions from site after verifying that they never responded to my email a week ago. Checking with email provider and my spam folder and there was not a response to my email. The problem is that 7, 8 and 9 are askew in the MICR field when designing and printing the check ( I have screen prints and sent screen prints to developer.) The font book is correct the program substitutes the 7, 8 9 from a various font to accomodate the field height. I was unable to use this app at all and it is not worth whatever they are asking! I am not even going to waste my time asking for a refund, I have spent way too much time trying to make their app work and then troubleshoot THEIR code .
While I could work around most of the lack of flexibility (such as the non-resizing account, transit and check fields) the main problem I had was that the MICR font included did not properly represent some of the characters, specifically, 7, 8 and 9.
